Jose Herrera is the Managing Partner of our Legal Department and Member of the Executive Board at Oriental Business Group. As an international lawyer based in Bangkok, he specializes in Corporate and Commercial Law and he started his career as a lecturer at the University of California and working as a litigator in European Union.
In Thailand and Malaysia during many years he has advised clients on the sectors of Pharmaceutical, Oil & Gas, Real Estate, Finance, Hospitality and Renewable Energy among many others. Heading the legal department of Oriental Business Group, he represents a variety of investors, start-ups, Fortune 1000’s and individuals that are committed to the economic success of Thailand.
He also has gained experience working in other ASEAN countries for our clients such as in Malaysia, Vietnam or Philippines where he often travels to support cross border transactions. During several years Jose Herrera has developed a strong practice on:
On 2015, he was invited by the Governments of Chile and Thailand as a selected speaker to give a lecture on the Free Trade Agreement signed between Chile and Thailand. During 2017, he has delivered lectures on Immigration, Finance, Foreign Investment and Thai Law at the prestigious business club of Bangkok Pacific City Club, where he also made presentations to key members of the public sector and government in Thailand. He has worked with the governments of Malaysia and Thailand supporting the foreign investment in key sectors such as Automotive, Supply Chain and Logistics.
He is responsible of building up solid long-term relationship with the Foreign and Thai clients (mainly high net worth individuals, CEO or senior management of medium size companies and public listed corporations) focusing on the commercial aspects of the professional services and supervising the works of the transactional lawyers and other service providers.
Promrak Chowwuttiprasit is a professional with a deep experience as an in-house legal counsel for IT, Real Estate, Machinery and Insurance companies. During her previous positions she gained a comprehensive understanding of the commercial regulatory framework after liaising and preparing applications and documentations for the public organisms such as the Land Department, Food and Drug Administration and the Thai Industrial Standards Institute. She also has assisted in court to clients in different criminal and civil proceedings in Thailand as she has been member of the Lawyer Council of Thailand and Barrister-at-law since the year of 2000. Since 2018 she is also a registered Notary. She works in Thai and English languages.
Nichakarn Pulsawat is a Thai lawyer graduated at Thammasat University who comes from an international law firm specialized on Intellectual Property matters. Nichakarn has handled trademark registrations and gained a complete understanding of different aspects of Intellectual Property by her professional work liaising with the Department of Intellectual Property DIP. In her free time, Nichakarn is committed with social responsibility as she has been an international volunteer in development programs in Nepal. She works in Thai and English languages.
